"I would ask everyone to remember a positive role model in your life or special person that made an impact on you when you were growing up. Call us if you have a desire to give back and provide a child with that same memory and positive influence. We need your assistance to make ROCK available every day after school and allow every middle school student to have the opportunity to have a mentor." - Judge Belinda A. Loveland
Do you have a heart for helping children? So do we! The compassionate hearts behind the R.O.C.K (Reaching Our Community's Kids) program in Rowlett are seeking your assistance in volunteering your time or contributing financially to do something positive in the lives of the children of our community.
We teach children that "Choice, not chance, determines one's destiny" and that each and every choice they do make can make a difference in their life or someone else's. Can you help make a difference in theirs?
Belinda Loveland was both a municipal judge and a solo-practitioner whose primary focus was representing abused and neglected children. After seeing the influx of juveniles coming to court, she strongly felt a need for a program to help children in Rowlett. She had a vision that this could be a community-based volunteer program and out of her desire to make a difference, R.O.C.K. was born.
We have inspired high school and college students, teachers, and other volunteers to get involved as mentors and leaders. Now, Loveland ROCK, Inc. is seeking your help as friends and supporters in our community.
After watching the volunteers and mentors successfully work with these kids after school through the ROCK Program, Belinda's vision grew to a two week ROCK summer camp designed to continue the process of instilling good choices. Last year’s camp was a huge success and we are gearing up for this summer. Camp is to reward them all for making the decision to do well in school, pass all their classes and not have to go to summer school. Camp will provide them with activities and keep them busy and out of trouble throughout the summer, as many are left unsupervised.
Our organization is always open to donations and volunteers. MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY!
